The Bronner grape is a new grape variety created in 1975 by Norbert Becker and has resistant characteristics of the PiWi family. Norbert Becker obtained this grape variety through a cross between Merzling and Sankt Laurent. Our first microvinifications of this grape variety express its character in a pure and straightforward manner.

Vinivication:

After harvesting by hand into 5 kg crates, the Bronner grapes are immediately cooled. Once they reach 3°C, they are destemmed and left to macerate in the press for an extended 18-hour period. The press is saturated with CO2 to avoid oxidation by adding dry ice. The must is then pressed and clarified using a static process. The clear must is then inoculated with selected yeasts and fermented at a temperature of 14°C. Fermentation lasts about twenty days. Subsequently, the wine is decanted several times after fermentation and matured in steel barrels. Before bottling, the wine is lightly filtered.

Tasting notes:

The Bronner, straw yellow in color, presents itself on the nose with apricot and mineral aromas. On the palate, the savory and mineral aromas provide length and persistence. A ready-to-drink wine with an aging capacity of 2-3 years.

Food pairing:

Wine to be paired with summer dishes like fish, white meat and vegetarian dishes. Serve at a temperature of 6-8 °C.
